Fire Prevention Week is October 6-12
The NH State Fire Marshal’s Office is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®)—the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week (FPW). The NHSFMO is supporting a wide variety of events across the state in support of this year’s FPW campaign.
New State Fire and Building Codes
Fire Code:
Effective August 13, 2024, the New Hampshire state fire code is updated to the 2021 editions of NFPA 1 and NFPA 101, as published by the National Fire Protection Association.
Building Code:
Effective July 1, 2024, the New Hampshire state building code is updated. A 6-month transition period is in effect until January 1, 2025.
The state building code means the adoption of the International Building Code 2021, the International Existing Building Code 2021, the International Plumbing Code 2021, the International Mechanical Code 2021, the International Energy Conservation Code 2018, the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code 2021 and the International Residential Code 2021, as published by the International Code Council Inc., and the National Electrical Code 2020, as published by the National Fire Protection Association.
