K-9s

Since 1990, the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office has had the distinct pleasure of having K-9 teams to assist with fire investigations. They are comprised of a specially trained fire investigator and dog, which are trained and certified to Maine State Criminal Justice Academy standards. Each dog trains, lives and works with a fire investigator as its handler.

Ignitable Liquid (IGL) Detection K-9s are specially trained to help detect minute traces of ignitable liquids used in fires and can lead investigators to a specific location where physical samples can be taken for forensic laboratory analysis.
