Permits, Inspections & Licensing
Please follow the instructions below to apply for a license or permit.
Permits
- Includes concerts, entertainment venues, and movie and television production sets. They are required of any municipality, fair association, amusement park, other organization, or individual.
- Applications shall be submitted to local authorities not less than 15 days prior to the date of display.
- All locally approved applications shall be submitted to the State Fire Marshal's Office at least 3 business days prior to the intended date of display.
Proximate Audience Shows
- Those that occur within a building or structure that occurs outside, before an audience closer than 75 feet to the pyrotechnics.
- Applications shall be submitted at least 10 days prior to production.
- These types of shows include pyrotechnic, flame effect, and fire performances.*
Licenses
- Display Fireworks Operator
- Apply to Wholesale/ Distribute
- To Store Display Fireworks
- Proximate Audience Operator or Apprentice Pyrotechnic Effect, Flame Effect, or Special Effects
(including fire performers)- *Fire Performers: This license will include a Special Effect Operator endorsement. For new applicants, all requirements for the Proximate Audience License must be met. This includes the required endorsement form and shall be signed by 2 separate current New Hampshire licensed fire performers, to include 5 shows each.
Inspections
- Fireworks sales outlets
- Sites and facilities for the display or storage of display fireworks, as defined in RSA 160-B:1, X.
