One Person Dies in Weare Fire

WEARE, New Hampshire – New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey, Weare Fire Chief Mark A. Roarick and Weare Police Chief Christopher D. Moore announce that a fire occurred at 77 Sewell Hoyt Rd. in Weare on June 4, 2024, at approximately 1:13 AM.  A deceased victim was located at the fire scene.     
 
When the Weare Fire Department arrived, they found heavy fire throughout the single-family home.  There were reports that the resident of the house may still have been inside.  During fire suppression activities, the fire department located one deceased victim.

The Weare Fire Department was assisted by Hopkinton, Henniker, Dunbarton, Bow, Hillsboro, Deering, New Boston and the Bradford Fire Departments.  Weare Police Department and Capital Area Mutual Aid also assisted at the scene. The Goffstown Fire Department provided station coverage.  

Positive identification of the victim and cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy, which will take place at the NH State Medical Examiner’s Office in Concord, NH, on June 5, 2024. 

The investigation into the origin & cause of the fire is active and ongoing by members of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Weare Fire and Police Departments.
