Arrest Made in Bradford Arson Case

Bradford, New Hampshire – New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey, Bradford Police Chief Edward Shaughnessy, and Bradford Fire Chief Bryan Nowell announce that an arrest has been made in connection with multiple outside fires, two of which involved structures, that had occurred between May 2022 and September 2023, in the towns of Bradford and Warner.

As a result of the joint investigation, former Bradford Firefighter Nathan Nichols, age 19, of Weare was arrested on December 27, 2023, on five counts of felony level Arson. He was released on personal recognizance bail and an arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Merrimack County Superior Court.

The joint investigation remains ongoing by members of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Bradford Police Department, and the Bradford Fire Department.
