Assistant Director/ Deputy Fire Marshal (Concord, NH) Close date 10/19/21

Seeking qualified candidates for an Assistant Director – Deputy Fire Marshal to manage the operations of the Division of Fire Safety, including the administration of all engineering, education and enforcement as directed by the Director of Fire Safety/ State Fire Marshal. Posted wage is $81,827.20 to $97,281.60. Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college with a major study in fire science, business management, criminal justice or a related field.  Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education. License/Certification – Valid New Hampshire Driver’ License. Candidates must possess full-time police officer certification throughout tenure of service.

Deputy Fire Marshal II / Fire Protection Engineer (Concord, NH) Close date 10/14/21

Seeking qualified candidates for Deputy Fire Marshal II / Fire Protection Engineer to administer and direct/supervise engineering and plan review services; assist in developing and maintaining fire code and life safety management systems; collect and analyze inspection and code enforcement data; oversee the Bureau of Building Safety and Construction. Posted wage is $75,046.40 - $89,294.40. Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or vocational institute with a major study in fire science, business management, criminal justice or related field.  Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education. License/Certification – Valid driver’s license. Candidates must possess full-time police officer certification issued through the NH Police Standards and Training Council, and must maintain police officer certification throughout tenure of service.

Part-Time Building Code Review Secretary (Concord, NH) Close date 9/23/21

Seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Building Code Review Secretary to perform administrative duties in support of the Building Code Review Board (BCRB) such as meeting coordination, website content contribution, record keeping and processing applications. Posted wage is $16.93 per hour, not to exceed 29.5 hours per week. Candidates must have at least an Associate’s degree from a recognized college or two years of college with a major study in business administration, secretarial science or computer science.  Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Part-Time State Building Inspector (Concord, NH) Close date 9/28/21

Seeking qualified candidates for a part-time State Building Inspector, implementing the state building permit inspection program. Evaluates building permits and construction plans. Conducts building and fire code inspections. Posted wage is $24.26 per hour, not to exceed 29.5 hours per week. Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major in fire science, engineering, building construction, or related field.  Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education. License/Certification – Eligibility for a New Hampshire Driver’s License.

Preferred qualifications: Certified Commercial Building Inspector, Fire Inspector I, II, or Certified Fire Protection Specialist or equivalent.
