Healthcare Facilities
The NH State Fire Marshal’s Office (NHFMO), Bureau of Building Safety and Construction, is responsible for ensuring NH healthcare facilities comply with fire protection standards and guidelines related to fire protection, fire alarm and sprinkler systems as they pertain to the NH State Fire Code and the NH State Building Code.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our office is working to expedite reviews and temporary approvals for healthcare facility modifications related to patient care. We are working in conjunction with DHHS and the local fire department to process these requests.
COVID-19 Updates
For planned projects that require structural review, it may take longer than our typical 4-6 weeks and we request your patience. For immediate needs related to healthcare operations in support of COVID-19 patient care, we strive to make an expedited decision within 24-48 hours.
If you have questions and need to speak with a plan reviewer, please don’t hesitate to call us at (603) 223-4289.
