Sean Plumer

The sixth canine handler was Investigator Sean Plumer and he worked with our second Yellow Labrador, K-9 Pal. They were our 9th team and Sean was a graduate of the 111th session of the New Hampshire Police Academy. Prior to joining our office, he worked as a local police officer for over 18 years. He retired on June 16, 2017.

Service Dates: Aug. 2014 – June 2017
Length of Service: 2 Years, 10 Months

K-9 Molly & Investigator Stacey Dubois

K-9 Molly & Investigator Stacey Dubois

The fifth canine handler was District Chief Dubois. Our first Yellow Labrador, Molly, started working with her in 2010. Before then, all of the dogs were either black or chocolate labs. After Molly retired in 2019, Stacey went on to become Deputy State Fire Marshal within the agency’s Bureau of Education & Outreach. She continues to serve in this position.

K-9 Andre & District Chief John Southwell

K-9 Andre & District Chief John Southwell

K-9 Andre’s partner was District Chief John Southwell and they worked together for over five years.  John had been part of the canine program for 19 years prior, starting in 1990 as the division’s first handler. He served with Murphy for 11 years and Jade for eight years, before teaming up with Andre until his retirement in 2015.

K-9 Molly & Investigator Mike Stark

Mike Stark

The fourth canine handler was Investigator Mike Stark, whose canine was named Molly. She came to the division after being rescued in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. They worked together for two years, until Mike left the division and returned to local law enforcement.

John Southwell

K-9 Jade was District Chief John Southwell’s second K-9 partner and they worked together for eight years, following his service with the agency’s original K-9, Murphy..

K-9 Clancy & Asst. Director John Raymond

John Raymond

Our third handler was Assistant Director John Raymond. When John was an Investigator, he worked with Clancy, the division’s first Chocolate Labrador retriever. When John was promoted to Assistant Director, Clancy then enjoyed five years of retirement.

Tom Norton

Investigator Thomas Norton was the division’s second canine handler, a role he played for ten years throughout his career. K-9 Cinder was his second partner and they worked together for seven years.

Tom Norton

Investigator Thomas Norton worked with Ruth for three years. She was his first K-9 partner.

John Southwell

District Chief John Southwell was the division’s first canine handler and worked with Murphy for 11 years, starting in 1990. John worked with three different canines during his career and was with the division from 1986 to 2015.
